Curriculum & Frameworks
Decisions involving the curriculum and materials taught in K-12 schools should be made after thoroughly examining the standards documents for your local school districts and state department of education. The following are links to the Standards Documents for Mississippi:
The 2016 Mississippi College- and Career-Readiness Standards for Mathematics provide a consistent, clear understanding of what students are expected to know and be able to do by the end of each grade level and course. The standards are designed to be robust and relevant to the real world, reflecting the knowledge and skills that students need for success in college and careers and to compete in the global economy.
Mississippi College- and Career-Readiness Standards Scaffolding Documents
Because of the rigor and depth of the Standards, scaffolding instruction to meet the needs of all learners is essential to individual success. These documents will aid teachers’ understanding of how to teach the Standards through a natural progression of student mastery.
Test blueprints contain information about individual tests, including the number of test items and the number of points for each test item. Blueprints serve as a guide for test developers to create/select test questions and construct test forms. These guides can be useful resources for teachers as they develop their own classroom assessments.
