Primary Mathematics Institute

In grades K-2, students begin to develop the foundational skills necessary for future mathematics success. These skills will be utilized throughout their K-12 learning and beyond. During this two-day institute, participants will explore ways to actively engage students in developing their counting skills, place-value understandings, computation strategies, and more.  We will utilize useful tools and manipulatives, as well as discuss ways to incorporate literature into mathematics instructional time. Participants will walk away with a better understanding of the Mississippi College- and Career-Readiness Standards for Mathematics and  how students’ mathematical learning is developed over their elementary years.
