Welcome to MATCH (Mississippi Achievement Through Chess), a program within the Center for Mathematics and Science Education (CMSE) at the University of Mississippi. The mission of MATCH is to promote scholastic and collegiate chess throughout the state of Mississippi as a platform for achievement, a tool for improving academic and life skills, and a catalyst for individual and community growth.

MATCH is a new program being offered by the CMSE. We plan on hosting several events throughout the year. To be notified of new events, please submit your email address below to be added to our MATCH mailing list.

The MATCH (Mississippi Achievement through Chess) program within the Center for Mathematics and Science Education (CMSE) at the University of Mississippi is offering a weekly group chess class in Oxford. The class is designed for students who are motivated to improve their abilities. The Beginner section will cover rules and basic strategies. The Intermediate section is for students with prior tournament or class experience. All ages are welcome.

TIME:

Beginner: 3:15 – 4:15 pm (The Beginner section will cover rules and basic strategies.)

Intermediate: 4:15 – 5:15 pm (The Intermediate section is for students with prior tournament or class experience.)
